Electra Hero Project

I grew up in a small beach community where everyone rides their bikes everywhere. A community where not everyone shaves their legs or wears spandex; or even wants to everytime they go for a ride. The first bike I picked myself was a hybrid from Sports Chalet that was too big and never road well. I remeber the gears chattering constantly and the brakes being so loud I never needed a bell or horn. after that experience I needed simplicity, I needed a cruiser. I road everywhere on my beach cruiser growing up.
I have been selected as one of 50 people in the nation to have the honor being an "Electra Hero" and I couldn't be more stoked because bikes are my passion and this means that I permeated my experience into enough people to get this nomination. Everyday at work I strive to enhance the cycling experience of complete strangers. Electra Bicycle Company makes my job easy by making no-nonsense products that work damn good. Electra is a San Diego based company, with their corporate headquarters located in Encinitas, California. I'm planning to pedal out there soon for a visit to check it out.

Tuesday, April the Fifth marked the start of this season of Tuesday Night Racing at the San Diego Velodrome. Well known around town as TNR. Morley Field is the place to be every Tuesday night this summer. Remember to bring a burrito, beer, blanket, and good vibes. I have never had a bad time watching the races.

    Who is bojac?

My whole life revolves around the two wheeled human power multiplier that is the bicycle. My name is Jacob Abrantes, better known as Bojac (an anagram for Jacob) I am 27 years old and I ride bicycles in San Diego, California. I have been commuting, no joke, since I was 4 years old. Now as an adult, bicycles are my life. I try to ride as much as I can, my favorite place to train is Mount Soledad in La Jolla. I try to foster cycling in everyone that I meet, almost everyday I make another rider out of an ordinary person. Cycling is my therapy; my bike is my therapist. Bikes saved my life and gave me a purpose. Bicycles can save the world. blah blah blah lets ride!
